Getting Involved

Volunteers

If you, like us, believe in the importance of thyroid transplants in the future and have some time to spare we’d love to hear from you.

We need people who can:

Help promote the site
Help organise meetings.
Help with correspondence
Help us bid for funding
Help with dealing with the press

It doesn't matter where you are in the world you can still help over the internet.

If you are close to Manchester we'd really love to meet you and you could get involved directly.

Please drop us a line on livingwithoutathyroid@gmail.com

Meeting Up in Manchester

We're planning on organising a meeting in Manchester to meet people who are interested in supporting the Campaign for Thyroid transplants. We will be finding out about you, how you'd like to help us, and how you think we should move forward.

If you'd like us to keep you up to date with the details of this meeting please e-mail us on livingwithoutathyroid@gmail.com

  1. Perhaps you could create a petition from Change.org to promote the need for thyroid transplant? This vehicle seems to be the big and powerful tool right now.

  2. Hi, I am from Australia and although I haven't had my thryroid removed I have had problems with my thyroid and have has hyperthyroidism after the birth of my children. I still get monitered yearly for thyroid nodules and bloods to see if normal although endos say it is normal I don't feel normal as I loose a lot of hair and can get quite depressed. I have looked into thyroid removal but told that it makes you worse. I feel for all the peple in the world with thyroid conditions a thyroid implant through stem cell would be great and the quality of life would be unquestionable. I am in.

  3. Hi

Thanks for your comment and your support. Hope you are doing ok.

At the moment we are busy writing to specialists and researchers in the field. There is always lots to do and we always welcome volunteers.

    We need help with
    • raising our profile within the thyroid community for example on social networking sites
    • communicating with the medical establishment
    • working with the media

Please let us know if you’d like to help. Even if it’s only on an occasional basis it would make a big difference to us.

You can e-mail me direct at livingwithoutathyroid@gmail.com

    Best wishes
